Baby Grace sprang to life inspired by Anne Farmer, an English teacher at Fort Osage High School, when she noticed a critical need among her students. Discovering six of her students were expecting, and only two managed to return to school post-delivery, Anne realized the immense challenge teen parents faced. By November 2006, the number of pregnant students or student-parents at Fort Osage High reached 27, not counting those who had to drop out for childcare. This stark reality drove Anne and her colleague, Juli Yocum, to partner with Buckner United Methodist Church, birthing Baby Grace on November 16, 2006, initially to support teen mothers in the Fort Osage School District. Rapid expansion followed, broadening the program's reach to young parents and their children up to age five, across various locations.

Since its establishment in 2006, Baby Grace has dedicated itself to serving thousands of families, becoming a beacon of hope and support. The ministry offers an array of services including care packages, diapers, and access to distribution centers filled with new and gently used items essential for mothers and their babies. Highlighting its commitment to family well-being, Baby Grace has, since 2012, offered families the opportunity to experience a uniquely designed church camp each summer. Through scholarships, Baby Grace ensures that no family is left behind due to financial constraints.

Currently, Baby Grace boasts a network of independently operated locations throughout Missouri and Kansas. Tailoring their operations to the specific needs of the communities they serve, each Baby Grace location upholds the organization's philosophy that every child deserves unconditional love and grace, regardless of their entry into the world. This shared belief knits the Baby Grace programs together, ensuring that families across the states receive the support they need through comprehensive care packages, diaper assistance, and access to essential items, perpetuating the mission initiated in 2006.
